Traffic Stop Results in Arrest on Drug Sales Charges

GALT, CA (MPG) - On May 18, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Galt Police officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a rental box truck for vehicle code violations. During the initial contact, officers learned the driver, Christian Lopez, 45, of Lodi, was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS).
During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located approximately 78 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 7 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, individual packaging baggies and a digital scale commonly associated with narcotics sales.
Lopez was arrested and booked on numerous drug related charges, including felony possession of methamphetamine for sales, felony possession of a controlled substance with two or more prior convictions, possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lopez was transported and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
This incident highlights the continued efforts of officers to proactively address illegal narcotics activity within the community through proactive enforcement.
