GALT, CA (MPG) - The City of Galt is inviting residents to enjoy a summer filled with free outdoor entertainment, including movie nights, live concerts and performances at the Galt Market, according to the city’s latest newsletter.

Free Friday Night Movies

The city’s Summer Movie Series returns this year with family-friendly films, outdoor entertainment and concessions available throughout the evening. Community members are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and friends and family to enjoy movies under the stars.

Screenings will take place at Veterans Field, 900 Caroline Ave., on the second Friday of each month from June through September. A special dive-in movie night is planned for August at the Gora Aquatic Center, 630 Chabolla Ave. Gates open at 6 p.m., with films beginning at dusk.

This year’s lineup includes “Zootopia 2” on June 12, “Hoppers” on July 10, “Moana” on Aug. 14 at the aquatic center and “Toy Story 5” on Sept. 11.

Summer Concerts on C Street

The Summer Concerts on C Street series will also return, bringing live music, car shows and community activities to downtown Galt throughout the summer. The free concerts will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and feature a range of musical genres in a family-friendly atmosphere.

The schedule begins June 13 with The Rupert Duncan Country Band performing country music, followed by Fast Times Band on July 11 featuring ’80s hits. Gary Bohannon and The Bad Habits Band will perform Motown and R&B on Aug. 8, and Latin Magic Band will close the series Sept. 12 with salsa and cumbia music.

Live Music at the Galt Market

The city will also offer Music at the Market, featuring live performances during lunchtime hours at the Galt Market. Visitors can shop local vendors while enjoying live music throughout the summer.

Performances will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month from June through August.
